Implementing an inclusive European Open Science Cloud

The European Open Science Cloud has finally entered its highly-anticipated implementation phase. The EOSC Symposium will provide a key engagement opportunity for the EOSC community. 

On 7th June 2021 09:30-11:00 UTC, FAIRsFAIR is organising a 1h30min session on "How repositories can increase their FAIR share"

During the course of the FAIRsFAIR project we have been working on defining a common metadata description for Semantic Artefacts (SA) to make them FAIR. This work was initiated with a few members of the RDA VSSIG TG on metadata led by C. Jonquet and we have converged on a DCAT extension for representing SA and a short list of metadata fields to describe SAs. Our goal is to propose a common minimum metadata description for FAIR SAs, setting up a threshold on FAIRness without restricting the usage of more metadata elements for a richer metadata description as required by the FAIR Principles. 

The FAIRsFAIR Roadshow will virtually visit Finland on 2 June 2021 to offer a FAIR programme. FAIRsFAIR will present some outputs and showcase practical tools for raising FAIR awareness and assessing the FAIRness of research datasets.  We will also discuss the role of FAIR for researchers in managing their work in a digital environment.
