On October 20th FAIRsFAIR will join the online workshop "The Road to EOSC seen from the national level",  organized by the Authority for Digitalization of Romania and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, in collaboration with Open Science Knowledge Hub (OSKH) and the coordinators of the National Initiative on the cloud for open science (RO-NOSCI).

#EGI2021 will take place from October 19th until 21st. The conference theme is: “Beyond the Horizon: Shaping the Digital Future”. This event will provide an overview of how the EGI Federation is contributing to shaping the digital future: with EOSC growing more mature, the new EU research funding programme Horizon Europe on its way, and an exciting range of advanced services and innovative computing models supporting research, a new landscape for research is being shaped.

The workshop will focus on presenting and gathering feedback on the draft “FAIR Competence Adoption Handbook for Universities” (working title). The handbook will be a practical tool for universities to implement FAIR research data management content and skills training in Bachelor, Master and Doctoral education programmes and will be published in December 2021. During the event, participants will reflect on the value and relevance of the handbook through the lens of practical examples of successful integration of FAIR-related content in higher education programmes.

Reliable FAIR data infrastructure relies on a stack of infrastructure components. This is very comparable with transport infrastructure: if I buy a car, I rely on the road. And in turn, the road construction companies rely on the availability of asphalt, as well as on machine manufacturers for their equipment. Which in turn rely on mining infrastructure.
