FAIRsFAIR has issued a call for experts from all scientific communities around Europe to join the European Group of FAIR Champions (EGFC).
Via the call, ten new members will be selected to join a highly visible group of experts and influencers actively engaged in analysing and shaping FAIR data policy and practice, and identifying technological gaps and needs within their communities. The aim of the EFCG group is to create broader engagement with FAIR, and to shape and disseminate the outcomes of the FAIRsFAIR project.
As FAIR ambassadors, the Champions share implementation stories, exploit synergies, and contribute to training activities and webinars. In addition, each Champion is expected to provide advice on operational challenges and also to promote the adoption of FAIR data policy and practice which supports the European Science cloud (EOSC).
Inputs from the Champions will be incorporated into the FAIR Landscape Analysis and white papers authored by FAIRsFAIR.
The FAIRsFAIR Executive Committee will select the new Champions in two rounds, the first in February 2020 (application deadline 31 January 2020), and the second in September 2020 (application deadline 31 August 2020). Candidates will be notified of the outcome of their application within 30 days of the relevant application closing date.
