The effective exchange of metadata is critical for supporting a FAIR data ecosystem where researchers can seamlessly search for and access research data held in multiple repositories. This becomes tricky when research data from different scientific disciplines are ingested, using a variety of standards, divergent formats, and multiple levels of granularity. While in an ideal world all metadata schemas and standards are fully interoperable, in reality they are not (yet). During the first metadata exchange issues webinar, Claudia Martens shared some practical experiences of the interdisciplinary discovery portal B2FIND relating to harvesting and mapping metadata. During this follow up webinar, Claudia will highlight the search aspect: What does it mean to make research data findable? What are common problems and which solutions are already available? And finally, what is a "good" way to move forward?"

Registration is free and open to all however the main audience is repository managers and data service providers. Data stewards and developers may also find the session informative.
