The aim of the workshop is to assist the Nordic/Baltic repositories with the practical implementation of FAIR Principle F3.  F3 = Metadata clearly and explicitly includes the identifier of the data they describe. Among 98 repositories assessed for FAIRness in our sample, 24 could not be evaluated at all due to lack of a global unique identifier (GUID). The first event and FAIRification step was therefore directed towards this topic; Dataset identifiers and PIDs. You can read about the event and see the recorded sessions here: https://www.eosc-nordic.eu/eosc-nordic-fairification-webinar-on-pids/ Among the 74 repositories evaluated during 2020 by the EOSC-Nordic project, we note that 67 repositories did not satisfy Principle F3, due to the fact that a data identifier was not explicitly present in the metadata. This is required to allow users to discover and access the data through the metadata. For this step, we have planned a follow-up FAIRification workshop/webinar for  Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021, from 10:00 -12:00 CET.  We want to explain the theory as well as provide some practical examples of adhering to FAIR Principle F3.

The event will be a VIRTUAL training, using Zoom.  The agenda will follow in January. To register for this event please visit the registration page. For questions, please contact andreas.jaunsen(at)nordforsk.org

Robert Huber, from MARUM and a member of FAIRsFAIR project, will do a presentation on "Some recommendations for the practical, machine-friendly implementation of the FAIR F3 principle"
