The CODATA-RDA Research Data Science Summer School, co-organised by FAIRsFAIR and other Data Initiatives, provides training in the foundational skills of Research Data Science. Contemporary research - particularly addressing the most significant, transdisciplinary research challenges - cannot be done effectively without a range of skills relating to data. The school is held at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics from August 5-16 and it is a part of a planned series of CODATA-RDA schools that will run in Europe as part of the FAIRsFAIR initiative.

This year, the school will be running a parallel strand that is oriented to students or Early Career Researchers (ECR's) considering a career in Data Stewardship and Early Career Stewardship and Early Career Data Stewards.

The first week of the school will be for both ECR's and Data Stewards. The second week will break into two parallel strands, one focussing on Data Science techniques for ECR's  and the other for Data Stewards. There is space for 5 students who wish to take the Data Steward strand. Students wishing to attend this strand will need to cover their accommodation and travel expenses to the school but there are no registration fee.

The provisional detailed programme can be found here with a breakdown of the shared and separate courses.

Candidates interested in attending should contact the director of the Data Steward strand, Hugh Shanahan before June 1.
