On 12 October 2021, FAIRsFAIR organised a workshop on the “Practical implementation of FAIR-related content in university curricula and teaching”. The event focused on presenting and gathering feedback on the draft adoption handbook ““How to be FAIR with your Data – A teaching and training handbook for higher education institutions”, which had been created by a group of about 40 collaborators during a series of book sprint events in June 2021 and a subsequent editorial process.
How to communicate FAIR? How to spark up a conversation on FAIR with your audience? How to assess one’s knowledge of FAIR? To answer these and other questions, Maaike Verburg and Linas Cepinskas from DANS recently delivered two demo sessions at the 3rd Open Science Fair Conference.

On 20 September 2021, FAIRsFAIR organised the workshop “Learning lessons from FAIR data implementation. Good practices from universities across Europe” during the Open Science Fair 2021. The event offered participants the opportunity to discuss a preliminary analysis of good practices from universities across Europe that are being gathered by the project partners, highlighting the drivers, impact and implementation steps behind initiatives taken by institutions to integrate Research Data Management (RDM) and FAIR data skills in university curricula.
The CODATA-RDA Schools instructors together with FAIRsFAIR, EOSC-Pillar, EOSC Synergy and Gdańsk University of Technology Library and the Open Science Competence Center, created in the framework of Bridge of Data project (MOST DANYCH project) at Gdańsk Tech Library, delivered a three day train-the-trainer workshop, from 6th to 10th September 2021.
On 15 September 2021, FAIRsFAIR organised a workshop on “Training the trainers: Data Management and FAIR data principles in university curricula”. The event addressed needs and challenges encountered by teachers and trainers of research data management (RDM) and FAIR data principles in higher education institutions, providing participants with a platform for discussion and mutual learning.
