With research interests ranging from corpus and computational linguistics to discourse analyses, she has initiated and supervised compilations of the first big corpora of the Lithuanian language and performed corpus-based research in most fields of linguistics.
In the past decade she has been both vice-president of the Research Council of Lithuania, and chair of the Committee of Social Sciences and Humanities. She has also been involved in the activities of the program committee for Social Sciences and Humanities at the European Science Foundation, and in two EU-funded research programmes.
Board memberships include COST Scientific Committee, ERA NET PLUS, and Humanities in the European Research Area (HERA). Prof. Petrauskaitė is also a member of the Science Europe Research Data working group, the ESFRI Forum, CLARIN ERIC research infrastructure, and the EOSC Governing Board.
