Hannes Thiemann is Head of the Data Management Department at the German Climate Computing Centre (DKRZ) and Director of the World Data Centre for Climate (WDCC). Having a background in geophysics he has been working in the field of data management for over 25 years. He is continuously involved in numerous national, European and international collaborations and projects, which are increasingly driven by the FAIR principles.
Through my experience in many small and large projects I can support you in the implementation of the FAIR principles, particularly in the area of large-volume simulations. Especially the data and metadata quality in this field poses special challenges, which can be met by an intensive cooperation of data producers and data repositories and a holistic view of scientific and technical workflows.
